The Army Burn Hall School College Abbottabad

The Army Burn Hall School and College Abbottabad

It is divided into two separate colleges for boys and for girls. One branch on the Mall Road near the city centre for girls, the other branch is in near Mandian. Originally these were Junior Burn Hall and Senior Burn Hall Schools respectively. The junior school starts from Prep class goes up to the Bachelor level for girls, boys go to the senior school after finishing their sixth grade.

The school was first established in Srinagar, Kashmir in 1930s by Christian missionaries. After the independence the school was again established in 1947, in the town of Abbottabad. The administration of this college was with Fathers until 1977, when it was leased to the Pakistan Army. The total strength is over 3,000 students and 100 faculty members. The Burn hall college for boys also serves as a feeder to the Pakistan military academy and in times of war the last year students are usually called upon in armed forces academies. A complete record of its students is kept with the ministry of defence and civil defence Pakistan in case their services are required for national emergencies. Physical training is usually provided by retired/serving trainers from the Pakistan military academy and the special services group and is of the highest quality. The students of Burn Hall are known as 'Hallians' and have risen to prominence both in Pakistan and overseas.
